Phew… it’s Sunday night and I need a weekend.
I’m exhausted- and with good reason. As mentioned on Thursday, this weekend was Reunion 2012.
For those that don’t know, that means we had 1000 alumni on campus this weekend, with 26 events in 2 days. So yeah, exhaustion is a good word.
BUT- it went off without a hitch. I’m actually shocked at how smoothly it went. Normally, I expect something to go wrong, and then because of the extraordinary amount of preparation, we are ready to fix it. But except for very minor hiccups, all of the event were super smooth and the alumni were extraordinarily pleased.
So yeah, if exhaustion is the exchange for a smooth Reunion weekend, I’ll take it. I’m pretty sure the rest of the team is exhausted too. But boy did everyone rock it out!
Some of my favorite moments-
- The woman whose water broke at the Fall Reunion Leadership reception attended, with her baby!
- The transformation of the rooms I use for my events so often! Quite the change right? From this, to Reunion!

- Seeing the table arrangements from this trip, come to life
- Knowing that these boxes, and all the heavy lifting attributed to them, were worth it.
- Knowing the first time I was in this room, was for a high school journalism conference. Oh what a change!
